Safeguarding of vulnerable adults SOVA formerly POVA training course is about raising levels of awareness and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, especially the elderly. Upon completion of this course you will have a better understanding and be able to implement safeguarding practices within your company Adult protection policies and procedures.

  • Types of abuse.
  • Who is vulnerable?
  • Who is the abuser?
  • Recognising abuse - Signs & Symptoms.
  • Guidelines for dealing with abuse.
  • Dept of health - no secrets!
  • Dealing with disclosure.

This course is run in accordance with current guidelines & legislation and can be adapted to suit any audience. This course is delivered in 4 hours, delegates are expected to show a willingness to learn and interact during group activities.
